Introduction
The Department of Entomology has engaged in teaching, research, and extension concerning the pests of horticultural plants. The Department teaches entomology courses on BSc, MSc, and PhD levels. The courses cover entomological and zoological topics, including morphology, taxonomy, faunistics, ecology, population dynamics and related subjects which help to have a better understanding of the pest assemblages of horticultural plants, as well as to implement the most appropriate pest control methods.
The Department of Entomology offers research work for undergraduate students majoring in Plant Protection (Plant Medicine) and Nature Conservation, leading to the MSc degrees. The Department participates in education abroad (Romania, Serbia, The Ukraine) and holds courses in English for foreign students who are on exchange programs at the faculty.
